3) Store small bags inside larger bags

This isn’t a fancy solution, but it can help to contain your shopping bags in one spot.

Once they’re stored inside a bag, below are some options on what to do with this bag of bags.

4) Hang your Bags from a Command Hook

So now that you’ve got your smaller bags inside a larger bag, what do you do with them?

Well, one option is to hang your bags from a Command Hook or other wall hook to take advantage of vertical wall space.

Do you have a spot where this would work for you? Perhaps by the front door?

5) Hang your Reusable bags from your coat rack

Another place to hang your reusable bags (or bags within a bag) is to hang them from your entryway coat rack or coat hooks.

They’ll be near the door so you can easily grab them on your way out to the grocery store or for other shopping.

6) Hang your reusable bags from an over the door hook

You can buy over the door hooks like the one we have (picture below) and then place them over an interior door or closet door.

If you have a coat closet near your front door, this could be the ideal place to hang your reusable bags.

I don’t remember where we bought our over the door hook, but I found similar ones on Amazon if you think these may help you.

7) Store reusable bags inside reusable shopping baskets

Our local grocery store sells plastic shopping baskets. They’re super handy because you can bring them into the store, fill up your basket, unload your items to pay for them and then load your paid items back into the basket.

Not only does it cut down on the number of reusable grocery bags you need, but you can store the bags inside the basket when not in use.

8) DIY Shopping Bag Holder

This is a similar idea to the two shopping bag holders listed earlier, but this one is a DIY reusable bag holder.

You can repurpose an old pair of sleep pants or jogging pants into a bag holder. It is a great way to reuse something you otherwise may have thrown out.

You can cut off one leg of the pants and stuff your bags inside the pant leg. You can clamp or put an elastic around the bottom end to keep the bags in there. Or a simpler way it to safety pin the hem of the pant leg so the reusable bags will stay inside until you pull them out.

And you can put a binder clip (or similar hook) on the top in order to hang the ‘leg of bags’ on your wall near your front door, closet or pantry.

9) Drawer Organizer

You can use a drawer organizer like this SKUBB organizer from IKEA to contain your shopping bags.

In the picture above the reusable bags are stored vertically in a file folder-type of method. It gives them a tidy look.

Then once you’ve got your reusable bags in the drawer organizer you can tuck it into a drawer (obviously), a storage basket, or just place it on a shelf near the front door.

10) Storage Basket

You can also store your bags in a storage basket or bin.

In the picture above you can see I put the reusable bags directly in the basket, and I didn’t use a drawer organizer for this example.

11) Get more compact reusable bags
