Neat Accessories for your RV Bumper
Before you install any of these accessories on your RV’s bumper make sure your camper, and bumper, are designed to hold the weight.
For instance, on bumper-pull trailers you want to avoid excess weight at the back of the trailer because it decreases tongue weight and can throw off the balance and handling of your trailer.
So do the safe thing and check your RV manual before adding weight-bearing accessories.
1. RV Bumper Bike Rack
Swagman 2-Bike Bumper Rack allows you to securely transport up to two bicycles on your RV’s bumper.
It comes with wheel-holders that attach directly to the bumper, providing a stable way to carry bikes without taking up space inside your RV.
The maximum weight for this model is 60 pounds (30 lbs per bike). [This weight limit should be fine for standard bikes, but most e-bikes exceed this weight so you’d want a different option for e-bikes.]
Below is a product photo showing the rack on a bumper without bikes on it.
This is the 2-bike model, but they also make a 4-bike model.
2. Bumper-Mounted Storage Brackets
Never enough room in your RV to bring all your camping gear or kids toys?
With these steel brackets that you mount to your camper’s bumper, you’ll have a strong spot to add extra storage.
It doesn’t come with the tote show in the photo above, but it does give you lots of opportunity to get creative and add your own storage tote, or even cargo rack.
The manufacturer ECOTRIC claims each of the 2 brackets can hold 200 pounds, but remember that doesn’t mean your bumper can hold that much. (So check your RV manual.)
3. Bumper Mounted Cargo Tray (by Camco)
Here is another option to hold a few extra items .
It is a bumper-mounted cargo tray made by one of the leading RV accessories manufacturers – Camco.
Before you buy this though, make sure there is some space between the bumper and the body of your RV.
There needs to be a gap or this won’t fit properly.
4. RV Bumper Clothes Drying Rack
Want a spot to hang wet towels and clothes outside your RV? If so, check out this bumper-mounted clothes drying rack from Stromberg Carlson.
It attaches to the RV bumper with the provided hardware and provides a convenient place to dry clothes and towels outdoors, saving space, energy and reduces moisture inside your RV. (So your RV windows don’t sweat.)

5. Bumper-Mounted Spare Tire Carrier
A bumper-mounted spare tire holder like this serves as a handy spot to securely mount an extra tire.
Spares are essential, particularly for long trips, so a holder like this ensures you’re prepared for any tire issues without taking up space in your truck bed or having to crawl under your trailer on the side of the road to access a bottom-mounted spare.
6. Bumper Grill Arm Assembly
This Bumper Grill Arm Assembly from Fleming Sales lets you attach a grill to your RV’s bumper.
This setup makes it easy to cook outdoors without sacrificing space inside the RV or needing a separate table for the grill.
The tray to set your grill on doesn’t come with this though, so you’d have to buy that separately, or make your own.
7. Bumper Hitch Receiver (adds a 2-inch hitch to your bumper)
Camco makes this popular Eaz-Lift RV Bumper Hitch that adds a hitch receiver to your RV bumper.
It bolts onto a 4-inch or 4.5-inch square RV bumper and allows you to attach bike racks, cargo carriers, or other hitch-mounted accessories.
Note: it is not for towing and the maximum weight is 200 pounds.
But having this will give you lots of options to add extra accessories to the back of your RV.
8. Magnetic RV Bumper Caps
Do you store your RV sewer hose inside your RV? Want a handy way to get the hose back out?
These bumper caps from Camco attach to the bayonet-style end of sewer hoses, so you can pull off the cap and slide the sewer hose out.
The cap has magnets to help keep it in place, tight to the metal bumper.
