Have a look through these ideas and see which ones will work for you.

1) Wire Pantry Shelves

Wire pantry shelf racks like these can help you stack items vertically. My friends have the 2-tiered corner shelf that you can see in the right side of the picture. It helps add some extra storage in the hard-to-reach corner.

You can buy similar shelves on Amazon…like the one below.

2) Use Organizing Bins for Dry Goods

12 PACK Multi-Use Clear Plastic Storage Bins for Organizing w/ Labels - Home, Kitchen, Bathroom, Office, Pantry Cabinet Shelf Organizer Bins - SOHO Collection, RV, Fridge Organization Containers

Clear plastic bins like this can work well to keep a pantry tidy and organized. They work well for packaged goods like granola bars, other snacks and soup cans.

This is a 12-pack of bins that have a crazy-high rating and they come with the labels.

3) Use Over the Door Shoe Holder for Food

Storing food inside a hanging shoe holder

I was sick of multiple, half-empty boxes of granola bars and snacks in our home pantry so I bought a hanging shoe holder with clear pockets from Walmart and attached it to the inside of our pantry cabinet. Then I put the food into the pockets.

It allows you to easily see what you have and it frees up space on the shelves.

Since these don’t cost much money, you can use scissors to trim them to fit inside your cabinet.

4) Use Airtight Stackable Pantry Organizers

Why It Works: Stackable organizers allow you to make good use of vertical space, keeping items neatly arranged and easily accessible.

These clear, airtight canisters from KEMETHY come in 4 sizes and are great for storing dry goods like pasta, rice, and spices.

You may not need to use each of the 24 containers in your RV, but then you can use the extras to organize your home pantry.

Why It Works: Clear containers and labels make it easy to see what you have at a glance, reducing the time spent searching for ingredients.

These stackable, airtight containers from OXO are called the “Good Grips Clear Pop Containers“. They come in various sizes and are great for organizing everything from flour and sugar to snacks and cereals.

They are highly-rated but quality comes as a cost.

Pair them with DYMO Label Maker for easy labeling.

5) Use Over-the-Door Baskets

Why It Works: Over-the-door racks utilize the back of pantry doors or cabinet doors, freeing up shelf space for other items.

My sister uses on in her 5th-wheel pantry to store various small items.

I don’t know where she got hers from, but there are a lot of options out there. The company Spectrum makes a well-rated basket that is available on Amazon. (Picture below.)

Some people use them to store food wraps like tin foil and Saran Wrap. (Or the option below may help.)

6) Magazine Rack to Hold Food Wrap

To help keep your foil, plastic wrap and Ziploc bags organized, you can re-purpose a magazine holder like in the picture above. Works well and most people don’t actually have magazines anymore, but you may still have the holders at home.

7) Install some RV Pantry Slide Out Shelves

Knape & Vogt Multi-Use Pull-Out Basket Cabinet Organizer, 5.32-Inch by 11.75-Inch by 20-Inch, Frosted Nickel

Why It Works: Pull-out shelves make it easier to access items stored at the back of cabinets, reducing the need to move things around.

The tricky thing is just making sure that you measure your cabinets and order a sliding shelf that will fit. Remember not only the width needs to be measured, but the depth of the cabinet too.

The shelves in the photo above are from Knape & Vogt. They’re well-rated and the installation is straight forward.

Will these work in your pantry cabinet?

8) Utilize Door-Mounted Storage

Why It Works: Door-mounted racks and holders can hold spices, condiments, or small containers, freeing up shelf space for larger items.

The 4 pack of shelves (above) are less than 12-inches wide so they’ll fit inside most cabinets. And you can mount them inside the cabinet door by either screwing them in, or using the included adhesive stickers.

Many RV owners don’t want to drill into their RV walls, but wooden cabinet doors are different because you can see what’s behind them.

9) Spice Drawer Rack

Isn’t this a neat idea. This spice organizer has 3 pull out shelves to help store your spices.

And since the spice bottles are stored lying down, you don’t have to worry about opening up your pantry and finding your spices scattered all over the place.

10) Maximize Corner Spaces or Odd Cabinets with Lazy Susans

Why It Works: Lazy Susans make it easy to access items stored in corner cabinets, or oddly-shaped cabinets that may otherwise be under-utilized.

The one in my sister’s RV is just one level, but you can get two-tiered lazy susans that work well to organize multiple small items.

11) Choose Collapsible or Nesting Items

Why It Works: Collapsible or nesting items can be expanded when needed and folded or stacked when not in use, saving space in your pantry so you can store other items in there too.

These nesting food storage containers from Joseph Joseph nest inside each other creating a tidy stack of containers instead of sprawling out all over cabinet.
